That is a load of garbage! There is not a single moral atrocity that "God" does not commit in the bible--either personally or through his tribal vassals as their Commander in Chief. Murder, rape, theft, slavery--the bible is entirely opposed to human rights. The bible sets a "Chosen People" group of tribes as having the right to treat all others as animals to be butchered, raped, or used as slaves. Just read through Joshua and appreciate how viciously immoral these people were. Probably the most immoral book ever cobbled together by primitive, superstitious savages.

None of the moral obligations or agreements honored by modern, civilized people require any supernatural explanation. Morals (how we treat one another) are entirely man-made. They are logical and rational agreements made to serve the self interest of individuals, families, and communities. The survival and welfare of the community has always been the underlying standard which informs the moral standards created and enforced within the community. Yes, an invisible tyrant is often invented to enforce these standards. But invisible people are easy to invent. Children do it all the time. Santa Claus is invisible. Nobody has ever seen the real Santa Claus and nobody ever will.

Christianity has been on every side of every moral issue, whether it be slavery, abortion, capital punishment, the drinking of spirits, or what rights women should have--if any. Indeed, the bible is notoriously misogynistic and depicts women as property without rights of any kind--to be butchered or raped depending on whether they were virgins or not. Even women of the Christian tribe were not allowed to talk in church or to have any dignity. Normal people are appalled and disgusted by the "morality" urged in the bible. For anyone to exalt such inhuman behaviour is sad and reprehensible. In the New Testament we find a "God" who takes wretched, inhuman savagery to a new depth. We find a "god" chortling over eternal torture. Yikes! Normal people reject such "morality".
