This isn't complicated.

If the people riding that train want improvements, raise the ticket prices, and when they have collected a sizable fraction (25% maybe) of the money to make the improvements make a bond issue and raise the balance and do the work. That is how this should work.

I am not willing to contribute one nickel to AMTRACK in the NE corridor. It just isn't my problem. I chose not to live there because I don't care about public transportation. See how this works?


Okay. Frankly I am tired of picking up the tab for states like AL or MS or KY. So you take over their expenses and the rest of us will take over Amtrak's. How's that?
