are you human? You celebrated turning the American health care system into a giant corporate welfare clusterf*ck

SOURCE: AMERICAN THINKER?Just because you have health insurance doesn’t mean you can afford medical care, as this Families USA study concluded. Washington Times:

One in four people who bought health insurance on their own couldn’t afford medical care last year, according to a study released Thursday that shows out-of-pockets costs are still getting between Americans and their doctors despite Obamacare’s progress in cutting the ranks of the uninsured.

Families USA studied people who purchased insurance in the non-group market — they weren’t covered through their jobs or a public program — in 2014, the first full year for which Obamacare’s marketplace was fully operational, and found 25.2 percent struggled to get care or pay for needed drugs.

Some of those studied entered Obamacare’s health exchanges, while others sought out coverage in the off-exchange market.

Lower and middle-income people were hit especially hard by high deductibles — the amount that must be paid before insurers will pay a claim — and other expenses that come straight from their wallets.

Among those who passed up care, 15 percent went without tests or followups, 14 percent passed on prescription drugs and 12 percent gave up medical care.

Government officials say more than 16 million Americans have gained coverage from the Affordable Care Act’s coverage provisions, although some have complained that consumers still face prohibitive costs.

“Simply having health insurance is no guarantee that consumers can afford to pay for health care,” the study says. “Health insurance involves different types of costs that consumers must pay out of pocket — ranging from a health plan’s deductible to copayments at a doctor’s office. These expenses add up, and research has shown that even nominal cost-sharing can deter people from getting needed care.”

Families USA, which contracted with the Urban Institute to crunch the numbers, split its research into two subsections of people who make 100-400 percent of the federal poverty level, the income range that allows people to qualify for financial help from Obamacare.

Among those with lower to middle-incomes — $16,200 to $29,199 as an individual, or from $27,400 to $49,499 for a family of three — more than a third reported going without care because it was too expensive.

About two of every five people with middle-to-higher incomes — $29,200 to $46,699 for an individual, or $49,500 to $79,199 for family of three — went without care.

Nearly 30 percent of people with deductibles of $1,500 or more skimped on care, a portion that dropped to about 20 percent among those with deductibles under $1,500.

This study reveals most Obamacare promises made before it was passed to be lies or exaggerated. Insurance itself is hardly more affordable – even with subsidies. Deductibles have not gone down. Out of pocket expenses over the course of a year have not dropped. Most plans have low or non-existent co-pays for doctor visits.

The fact that such a high percentage of people who have bought insurance under Obamacare still can’t afford to have their health needs taken care of shows the utter failure of Obamacare to achieve any of its major program goals except increasing the number of people covered.

Barack and Michelle Obama’s race to the bottom
........................................................................................
By Jeff Crouere -- May 15, 2015
canadafreepress.com

As the Obama administration mercifully begins to wind toward the end of its second term, both the President and the First Lady will continue to distract from their horrible record. Their favorite distraction is to claim racial discrimination exists in this nation and it needs to be corrected through government action.

Even though we are not living in Mississippi in 1964, the President and Mrs. Obama continue to emphasize that America has not progressed enough from the Jim Crow era. They minimize the tremendous progress that African Americans have made in this country and focus on the challenges that remain.

Instead of dealing with the problems they have created, the First Couple engage in a continual discussion about race while employing racially divisive rhetoric. Although it may be skillful and politically expedient, it has done tremendous damage to race relations in the nation.

The most recent example occurred last weekend when the First Lady delivered the commencement address at Tuskegee University. Instead of focusing on the goals and aspirations of the graduates, she delivered a speech all about the supposed discrimination she faced.

Even though Michelle Obama enjoyed the benefits of affirmative action to attend one of the nation’s finest schools, she complained that people looked at her with suspicion. She also grumbled about everything from the way the liberal media covered her to the supposed lack of respect she receives for her accomplishments. The speech was all about Michelle Obama, not the graduates who were allegedly hearing an inspirational message.

A commencement speaker should motivate graduates to achieve their goals and give them hope for the future. Instead Michelle Obama showed her narcissism and self absorption.
Obviously, she has learned from the master of egoism, her husband.

Even though the President is bi-racial and was supposed to be a unifying force in our country, he has succeeded in polarizing Americans. A recent New York Times poll showed that race relations are at a two decade low in our country. This is no surprise since Barack Obama is always highlighting issues of racial conflict and telling Americans there is racial discord throughout the country.

While Barack and Michelle Obama focus on the race issue, they don’t want to talk about the real economic situation. In the Obama years, the economic results have been abysmal as 46 million Americans are now on food stamps and approximately 50 million people are mired in poverty. Although the unemployment rate is at 5.4%, the real employment situation is much worse. There are an astounding 93 million Americans out of the workforce and fewer people are working today than at the beginning of the Obama administration.

The foreign policy achievements of this administration have been non-existent. Iraq is a disaster and the terror group Islamic State is growing in influence. Other supposed success stories like Yemen and Libya are now failed states overrun with terrorists. The Russians have invaded Ukraine and fostered closer ties with the Chinese. In the Middle East, the Israeli government views this administration as unfriendly while the leaders of the Persian Gulf states are unhappy about a President determined to sign a nuclear treaty with a radical Iranian regime. It was no surprise that four of the six leaders invited to the President’s Persian Gulf summit skipped the event.

With poor results at home and abroad, Barack and Michelle Obama will continue to stir the racial pot, distract from their reign of error and lead Americans on a very disturbing race to the bottom on the issue of race relations.

The last 20 months of the Obama administration will be very, very uncomfortable. Let’s pray our country will avoid a disastrous racial conflict.

Clintons Reportedly Earned $30 Million in the Last 16 Months
New York Times ^ | May 15, 2015 | By MAGGIE HABERMAN and STEVE EDER

Hillary Rodham Clinton and her husband made at least $30 million over the last 16 months, with the bulk of their income derived from more than 100 paid speeches, an official with her presidential campaign said late on Friday.

The couple’s earnings and assets were to be detailed in personal financial disclosure forms that Mrs. Clinton and other presidential candidates were required to file with federal election officials no later than Friday.

Obamas worth millions, disclosure forms reveal
.............................................................................................................................

The Hill ^
| May 15, 2015 | Jordan Fabian

President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama’s assets total somewhere between $1.9 million and $6.9 million, according to financial disclosure forms released Friday by the White House.

The bulk of the Obamas’ wealth is invested in U.S. Treasury bills and notes, the total being estimated between $1.25 million and $5.25 million.

The rest of the money is held in retirement savings accounts, checking accounts, a pension fund, and college savings accounts for their daughters, Malia and Sasha.

Sales of two of the president's books, The Audacity of Hope and Dreams from My Father, allowed the Obama’s to take in $30,000 and $100,000 in royalties in 2014.

The first family’s only disclosed liability is the mortgage on their Chicago home, listed between $500,000 and $1 million.

The Obamas are required to submit the financial disclosure forms each year under federal law. They allow public officials to list the value of their assets and liabilities in broad ranges, making it difficult to calculate their exact net worth.
