Slavery was around long before the Bible. Christianity, however, produced the only Abolitionist movement on earth.

When I said Christians seemed to be big fans of every woman having as many kids as possible I wasn't trying to lead up to abortion, I was just pointing out how popular the Duggars seem to be with the Christian population. I find it a little disgusting for a family to be popular for just "reproducing" in this day and age.

So you form your opinions on the basis of reality tv shows ... if the Duggars are Christians, all Christians are exactly like them? BTW I have no problem with the Duggars. They want a large family and have every right to have one. Ditto for people with small families.

As far as abortion, it would CERTAINLY be better if women tried to avoid getting pregnant and if they did get pregnant they offered their children for adoption.

And just wishing for it AIN'T gonna make it happen....

I agree. But we should endeavor to pass our values on to our children and counteract bad influences from the general culture (called "the world" in the Bible). That's probably all we can do.

You don't buy the limited resources argument..eh..
Have you noticed what's going on in California?

Yes, they're making a drought worse by poor public policies. However, the CA drought isn't because the world is running out of water.
