How to Enlarge Font Size When Printing Web Pages

smallbusiness.chron.com

When you need to save information from a web page, print it out. Browsers allow you to print without needing to copy and paste the information into a word processing program. Changing the size of the text in your browser won't affect the printed product. You must adjust your print settings from your browser to get the ideal print out for reading.

Internet Explorer

Step 1
Right-click on the toolbar and click on "Command bar" to make your icons appear. Click the "arrow" icon next to the Printer button and select "Print Preview."

Step 2
Expand the "Shrink to Fit" drop-down menu. Select the scale percentage you want the web page to use. The larger the scale, the larger the text on the printout.

Step 3
Click the "printer" icon to print your document.

Firefox

Step 1
Click the "Firefox" button and select the arrow next to "Print," then "Page Setup."

Step 2
Uncheck the "Shrink to Fit Page Width" box.

Step 3
Type in the scale percentage you want the web page to use then click "OK."

Step 4
Return to the "Firefox" menu and select "Print," then "OK" to print your document.

  • Tip: Changing the orientation of your document to landscape mode will often give you more room to expand your text without losing any of it.
