My uncle's father had a quarter-horse ranch in Waco. As a kid, I learned to ride horses there, to shoot dove, how to deal with snakes, what to do when you get stung by a scorpion, how to headlight rabbits and shoot them with 22's while drunk at night, and many other things. It's not all crazy, but, it's very Texas.

The people I knew from TX would call it Wacko. Never been. I always pictured it as kind of wild west country. Your description seems to confirm that picture.

How much LSD could your uncle's father's quarter-horse carry?
