Yeah, claiming to be Indian because one great-great-great grandparent was Indian is stretching it. But then again, people say they're Irish, Scots, whatever, with not much better ancestry.

Greed and grievance are the only reasons one would claim to be 1/32nd anything.

If your great, great, great grandfather was a 100% American Indian, I can see someone claiming 1/32nd for kicks.

Our senior Senator played that into a tenured Harvard professor and the the Senate. Worked for her.
