One of my grandfathers wasn't a stupid gullible person, at least I don't think so, but I'm told he was out selling apples on street corners in the early 30's.

He had just come over from Sweden in 1917. The depression hit him and his family pretty hard.

He had saved some money in the bank but then it wasn't there anymore.

I don't know if he was still a big fan of capitalism at that time or not but if he wasn't I think he should get the benefit of the doubt rather than just being considered a stupid gullible person.
