G2: RE:weird. Here is my take on this:

1. they haven't unloaded all of AMAT.

2. Something good is going to happen to amat.

3. small guys sells to 'marginal guys' more than industry leader
'AMAT'. I think it is the case. In the bad time, the big one
actually take advantage of the situation because of its staying
power.

"2nd bright picture is that Lehman did downgrade the semi-conductor stocks. They mentioned about 7-8 of them. However AMAT was not mentioned about being downgraded. Weird, huh..???"

Not really. The Lehman analyst believes that Applied Materials is a company that specializes in synthetic fabrics. He thinks that the stock price will go up in a recession due to increased purchases of polyester as the consumer does everything possible to reduce their overhead.
