The way to getting the best deal is to eliminate all Tariffs. If they keep their people from getting the best deal from us by keeping their Tariffs, so what? This whole idea of "fair trade" is a joke. I want my Gov to get out of my way and let me buy what I please where I please. None of their damn business.

I agree. It has taken me a while to realize that although something is named " free trade " it is far from that.

Politicians label legislation in simple terms so that the low information voter just needs to look at the label to get a quick understanding of what the politician proposes. Sounds good, must be good. Got my vote. Hey! Barack has a twitter account! Way double cool POTUS.
