Reggie: BTW: I think you are a cool ultrahip guy-unfortunately, on this one subject you are horribly,consistently misguided:).Diverting this anti-trust issue into a precedent setting policy change/oversight evolution is merely your posturing defence/red herring to gather misdirected sympathy.What , do you think we are going to end up with a Software/Technology Administration because the peoples legal representatives stepped in to protect the consumers' interests and further the technology progression that competition in a market stimulates?Fill me in duuude, I am all ears and...as open minded as the next guy..

If my memory serves me well, I think that the US Government's actions with regard to monopolies in technology sectors has served the public well, from the handling of anti-trust against the Standard Oil monopoly to that of the AT&T monopoly. As to whether it has cause these industries to grow faster, who knows. It certainly created more competition, and was better for the US in general. Besides, it has been shown time and time again that monopolies, left unchecked, tend to grow lazy, inefficient, and eventually they become stagnant. Ensuring that others can compete against MSFT will only serve to help ensure that the US software market is healthy and competitive.
