All sorts of materiel are used for alternate energy sources, not just lithium, a lot of that is imported.

Even for lithium its "could meet", not "will someday meet", let alone "does meet". And if it has the capability to meet demand that still doesn't imply there won't be any imports.

But all of that isn't really all that important, oil or solar, or wind, or batteries, even if we used no imports for those specific things the US would still fund a large and advance navy.
