The silver line might make sense. Local rail,mostly in a wealthy county with over a million people (and the end of it in a county that is also very wealthy and recently was the fastest growing county in the country). The system doesn't efficiently use resources, it should be able to give the services it does for less, but that doesn't mean the system should be shutdown. Certainly some transit ideas do not make a lot of sense, but its not like they are all bad. Cross country rail OTOH, is likely a big money waster in the US (and in some other places as well).
