SANDISK RESPONSE - 12/19/97

Question:

Are the contracts with the fabs in US$ or Asian$? If in Asian$ will this result in lower production costs due to decreased value of the PacRim currencies, higher margins and/or lower selling price to make CF/MMC more price competitive?

Answer:

Some of the fab contracts are in U.S. dollars and some of the fab contracts are in Asian dollars. Some of our sales to our customers in the Far East are in U.S. dollars and some are in Asian dollars. Because we are naturally hedged at the present time, we don't expect currency fluctuations to have a significant impact on our earnings.
