The withdrawal from Iraq was NOT a mistake. We could not keep troops there because the government of Iraq would not grant immunity to our forces. First, We could not allow out soldiers to be prosecuted by the Iraq government. Second, the hostility between the Sunnis and Shiites would prevent a stable government from ever being formed.
