I don’t think a criminal that was killed while assaulting a police officer deserves to be memorialized. It sends the wrong message. Every time people are paid to protest a supposed injustice before the facts are known we lose credibility in the justice system.

Michael Brown was a criminal, he had moments earlier committed or assisted with a strong armed robbery. When the officer approached, Brown attacked. The officer shot him in self-defense and it was proven to be justified by a Grand Jury.

He like many other people that attacked police officers lose their lives as a result, which isn’t something to be memorialized. There are police killings that cross the line. I do not believe this was one of them. I wasn’t on the grand jury and I’ve never been to Ferguson, so I don’t have all the facts, but trying officers in the media is not appropriate. Pierce was a commissioned law enforcement officer in Virginia for nine years.

7 Stages of the Progressive Agenda

STAGE 1: Identify the issue.

Any Progressive can make an issue out of anything. That's the Power of the People! Just name it and blame Republicans. Many issues never go beyond Stage 1 because they are so readily and widely embraced by the masses. Examples include free cell phones, free gas, and free Obama money from his stash. Whatever the issue, throw it at the wall and don't worry if it doesn't stick—there are at least six more ways to make sure it does!

STAGE 2: Promote the issue.

Exhort media minions to give saturation coverage to the latest issue, to build consensus, create buzz and subsequently demand. People who never thought this was something they should have, and have happily lived without it for years, will start thinking this is something they should have and absolutely cannot live without—especially if they're persuaded that not having it is why they've never been as happy as they previously and mistakenly believed. Blame Republicans. If it still shows signs of sliding down the wall, then proceed to the next stage.

STAGE 3: Say it's a MORAL issue.

Remember back in the 80's, when evangelical Christofascism was infecting the country at fever pitch, and Progressives tried to combat it by saying you can't legislate morality? When that didn't work, we simply expropriated the word and changed the definition like we do with everything else. Now, morality refers to support of the Progressive agenda, and you'd better believe we're going to legislate it to the hilt! Whatever it is Progressives want to do, it is the MORAL thing to do. Ergo, to oppose it is simply...immoral.

And who among us wants to be immoral? Don't we all want to do the right thing? The correct thing? All we want to do is help people so they can live better lives—what's wrong with that? It's moral, isn't it? Somewhere down the line, there are supposed to be grand and glorious rewards for being moral, for without them, who would bother?

To say it's a moral issue is like giving the masses a mild laxative—sometimes all people need is just a gentle little push, something to soften them and ease the passage. At this point, we usually get government funding, and maybe a czar to oversee it. The media continues to do its part to promote it, while celebrities begin sporting the appropriately colored awareness ribbons.

Yet there will still be those who are either too confused or ignorant to see the light. That, or they're simply...immoral. Or amoral. Either way, they're so not moral that they're perfectly happy to see that issue slide down the wall till it plops on the ground. Blame Republicans. But that's when we must implement the next stage.

STAGE 4: Declare the issue a CRISIS!

Sometimes Progressives will skip over the first three stages to Stage 4, in which case, this is where it really starts. You don't get anything through Congress or the courts simply by saying it's "nice to have." No. It is a CRISIS! Lives are in danger! Planet is in peril! Time is running out! We must start taking steps to begin taking action NOW!

A crisis receives even more funding, and the establishment of a government agency to impose regulations that will eventually bring it under control—but only as long as funding continues and keeps pace with inflation.

The media will continue beating their drums. In addition to the awareness ribbons, celebrities make speeches about it at awards shows, and start incorporating it into the plot lines of their movies and "Very Special Episodes" of TV shows, etc. The masses must be made aware of the CRISIS!

But there will still be scoffers. Skeptics. Deniers. Those who say there is no crisis. Those who say that no matter what the crisis, it's always been here and hasn't hurt anyone or anything. Those who say it's just another wealth redistribution scheme. Those, especially at the corporate level in the private sector, who spend millions, billions, and gazillions to convince the masses that there is no crisis, all to protect the ill-gotten profits they stole from those same masses! Why, they'll say that it isn't even an issue, let alone a crisis! Blame Republicans. People dependent on being told what to think will be tricked into believing these lies instead of the current truth.

That's what we Progressives call "a messaging problem." Therefore, we must double down and move to the next stage.

STAGE 5: Call it a HEALTH issue!

All we want to do is help people. All we want to do is help them make better decisions, the right choices, so they can live healthy, happy, productive lives without fear of death, disease, or destruction. How can anyone with an ounce of compassion be against that?

But sometimes it's not enough to say lives are in danger, or the planet is in peril. Sometimes we have to be more specific, because some people, dagnabbit, just aren't satisfied with vague generalities. This is why "individualism" is such a bad idea—it encourages people to dwell on the nitpicky details of how an issue, even when it's been elevated to the level of crisis, will personally affect them and their selfish little private world.

So let's make it personal! Bring on the testimonies! Call on those who will share their heartbreaking stories of how their health, and by extension their lives, have been ruined because of the crisis! Blame Republicans. Poverty, income inequality, climate change...all of these things have an adverse impact on a person's health and well being.

Show pictures of suffering children. Crumbling glaciers. Rising floodwaters. Drowning polar bears. Smokestacks belching out billows of black smoke. Oil-soaked baby animals with huge, sad brown eyes. Tearful Native Americans standing at the side of the road with heaps of garbage at their feet. Don't just tug on those heartstrings—yank 'em taut and play 'em like a Strad!

Then show the masses what it all leads to: Starvation! Disease! Non-breathable air! Undrinkable water! Carcasses! Stink! Gross! Death! Destruction! Doom!

Only one thing will solve these problems and reverse the inevitable before it's too late—more government funding! Yet there will still be those who don't care. Who just want others to die quickly. Who don't want to spend the mere few pennies a day per person it would cost to eliminate these horrors forever and ever and ever.

That's when we roll out the next stage.

STAGE 6: Enshrine it as a CIVIL RIGHTS issue!

Nothing shuts down dissent like calling it a civil rights issue, because anyone who opposes anything to do with civil rights can be labeled a bigot, a hater, or any kind of phobe. Civil rights always trump all other rights, and this allows us to shame the haters and bigots and make them feel like the outcasts they are, on the extreme fringe, the wrong side of history!

Once an issue is consecrated as a matter of civil rights, the masses will hold marches and rallies across the country to demand it. There may be riots and vandalism, and many innocents will be hurt or jailed, or even killed. Blame Republicans.

The issue will finally go before the people for a vote—and if it doesn't pass, no problem! The courts will overturn it because it is a civil right! And the people will keep marching and rallying and blaming Republicans until that happens!

Nothing is more sacred than a civil right...except, perhaps, the government that keeps it sanctified through continued funding and special protections and privileges for anyone the civil right touches.

In the meantime, there will still be bigots and haters who are just too shameless to be shamed. Haters gotta hate. There will still be those who insist that religious rights and so-called inalienable rights endowed by some mythical being should matter. And there will still be enough of them to block the march of progress, and with it the necessary funding, without which all will be lost if we don't make the decision to do something to take the needed steps to start action now, before it's too late!

Which brings us to the next stage...

STAGE 7: Dammit! Can't you people see the crisis is not just a moral issue or a health issue or a question of civil rights? It's a matter of NATIONAL SECURITY!

To not treat it as a matter of National Security is, as President Obama recently told graduates of the Coast Guard Academy, a "dereliction of duty." Members of the military can be court-martialed for it. Under conditions of war, they may be executed for it.

When something is declared a matter of National Security, anyone who does not treat it as such is willfully endangering millions of lives and the future of the entire planet. They are seditious. They are enemies of the State. They are guilty of treason and crimes against humanity. Therefore, they must forfeit all. We kept warning them millions would die, didn't we?

Throw them against the wall. Don't worry if they don't stick. This time, we want them to drop to the ground.

And don't forget to blame Republicans.

The Clinton Foundation shook down a charity run by supermodel Petra Nemcova for a $500,000 donation before Bill Clinton would agree to speak at its annual gala last year in Manhattan, according to a report today.

The former president received a “lifetime achievement award” at the June 2014 Happy Hearts fundraiser at Cipriani 42nd Street.

The charity’s former director told The New York Times that Clinton appearance was a result of a “quid pro quo” — meaning the $500,000 payment.

“The Clinton Foundation had rejected the Happy Hearts Fund invitation more than once, until there was a thinly veiled solicitation and then the offer of an honorarium,” former charity director Sue Veres Royal said.

“Petra called me and said we have to include an honorarium for him — that they don’t look at these things unless money is offered, and it has to be $500,000,” she added.

Both the Clinton Foundation and Happy Hearts denied the shakedown charge and said the two groups were working together to provide aid to Haiti.

“[Both charities] have a shared goal of providing meaningful help to Haiti,” a spokeswoman for Happy Hearts told the Times. “We believe that we can create the most impactful change by working together.”

But the paper said it’s rare for one charity to donate funds to another charity to land an honoree. Usually, the award recipient is expected to help raise money by attracting new donors.

Nemcova created the Happy Hearts Fund to rebuild schools in areas affected by natural disasters after nearly getting killed in Thailand during the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami.

The charity has built 114 schools in nine countries serving more than 50,000 students.

Jihad in Sheep’s Clothing
..............................................................................
Catholic World Report ^ | 6/1/2015 | William Kilpatrick

Suppose you are the pastor of a large suburban parish and suppose further that several members of your parish want to invite a well-known speaker to talk about the threat from militant Islam. You check the Internet and find that the speaker is listed by the Southern Poverty Law Center as the head of a hate group. Upon further checking, you find that this speaker has had speaking invitations rescinded by four different bishops.

You doubt that the man is really a hater and you’re disposed to hear what he has to say. At the same time, you realize that an invitation would probably bring unwelcome pressure from local Muslim groups and unwelcome attention from the local media. And somewhere in the back of your mind you recall that numerous churches in other parts of the world have been attacked or firebombed by Muslim terrorists. You tell yourself that it’s highly unlikely that your own church would ever be a target but, still, why put your parishioners at even the slightest risk. Besides, you’re sure that other parishes in other cities will provide a venue for the speaker. In the big scheme of things, it won’t matter if one parish decides to pass up the opportunity.

Suppose that you are the editor of a mid-size publishing house, and suppose you are considering a proposal for a book on Islamic terrorism. The sample chapters are thoroughly researched and well-written, but it concerns you that the author links Islamic jihad to Islam itself. It’s the kind of book that, in ordinary times, you would be inclined to publish. But these are not ordinary times. The massacre of the editorial staff at Charlie Hebdo magazine is fresh in your mind. Of course, nothing like that is likely to happen in America, but you’re not sure if you have the right to put your employees at any risk, no matter how slight. Besides, you’re sure the author won’t have any trouble finding another publisher.

Multiply these two scenarios a thousand times and you can see why Americans remain relatively complacent about the threat from Islam. When everyone in the information business decides that the prudent thing is to pass the buck, everyone else ends up with only a passing knowledge of Islam.

It’s not as though Americans don’t know about terrorist attacks in Tunisia, Nigeria, Paris, and Copenhagen. But because the media police their own thoughts so carefully, these events tend to be presented as discrete happenings with no connection to a larger pattern. More significantly, very little attention is paid to the phenomenon of stealth jihad—the quiet preparatory process that makes possible the more spectacular acts of jihad.

What’s stealth jihad? It’s an attempt to spread Islamic law and culture by non-violent means, including political activism, propaganda and lawfare. Think of it as an influence operation. Islamic activists aim to influence government, media, entertainment, educational institutions, the courts, and even churches. When Father Jim or Bishop Murphy decides to rescind a speaking invitation lest the local chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations takes offense, it’s partly because of pressures created by stealth jihadists. When a book publisher decides to pass on a book that might hurt the sensitivities of the Muslim community, it’s because stealth jihad has magnified the clout of the Muslim community well beyond its actual numbers.

Stealth jihad need not be particularly stealthy. In fact, Muslim groups can be quite vocal about their demands. But in comparison to the other type of jihad, demands for halal menus, special toilet facilities in public places, and sharia courts for resolving family matters seem minor in nature.

What’s more, there’s an implicit understanding that the granting of these concessions will serve to keep the violent kind of jihad at bay. It’s the latest twist on the old mafia extortion ploy. This time around, it goes something like this: “You and I are reasonable men, but my friend here is hard to control. He can get very excitable if his son is forced to sit next to pork-eaters at the school cafeteria.” It’s all unspoken, of course, but those who are attuned to cultural change will find it easy to convince themselves that their own sons and daughters can only benefit from eating a more multiculturally sensitive diet.

The trouble is, such concessions are more, not less, likely to bring the other kind of jihad closer. The Muslim enclaves that stealth jihad serves to create can eventually become breeding grounds for terror. For example, the perpetrators of the Charlie Hebdo massacre didn’t pop up out of nowhere. Cherif Kouachi, one of the two assailants, was part of the 19th Arrondissement Network, a terrorist group that operates out of a Paris neighborhood with a large Muslim population. Their friend Amed Coulibaly, who killed four hostages at a kosher market, grew up in Grigny, another suburb of Paris with a heavy concentration of Muslims. Many of the “sensitive urban zones” that ring Paris are effectively controlled by Muslims, and they provide environments where terrorists and would-be terrorists can find like-minded collaborators and supporters.

France, of course, has a more serious Muslim immigration problem than the U.S., but like the U.S., it also suffers from a bad case of political correctness. In France and other European countries, political correctness translates into an excessive respect for and deference to other cultures. In Europe, multiculturalism does not mean that cultures should mix together, but that each subculture should retain its distinct identity. The preservation of the other’s culture in its undiluted form is such a high priority that to expect the newcomers to conform to the native culture is considered tantamount to an act of imperialism. Many Muslims aren’t happy with the policy because they prefer to integrate with the host culture. But some Muslim leaders find the arrangement to their liking because it allows them to create parallel Muslim societies which can operate under Islamic rules with very little outside interference.

The Europeans were hoping that what happened in the sensitive zones would stay in the sensitive zones, but that hasn’t been the case. In addition to the occasional terrorist attack or synagogue firebombing, European cities have been treated to a steady stream of riots, demonstrations, “virtue police” patrols, demands for halal menus, refusals to abide by public health regulations, and at least one attempt to take over a city school system. However, European authorities have been reluctant to challenge the distinctly un-European customs, many of them illegal, that have developed in the “no-go” zones and spread out to the larger culture. Political correctness dictates that they don’t have a right to intrude on the cultural space of the “other.”

This confluence of political correctness and cultural jihad has brought Europe to a perilous state. Some observers of the European scene feel that civil wars are just over the horizon. The situation is not nearly so bad in America, but it could quickly deteriorate if editors, pastors, and other assorted opinion-makers continue to self-censor. One effect of the self-censorship is that the American public has no idea of how bad the situation has become in Europe, and thus no inkling that the same sort of thing could someday happen here.

Of course, you don’t have to be in the clergy or in the media to be caught up in the new culture wars. Stealth jihad can happen to anyone.

Suppose, for instance, that you sit on a city commission that has to decide on a proposal for the construction of a mosque and Islamic center. Opponents of the plan point out that the city’s Muslim population is too small to justify the building of the large and expensive project. Some of them angrily insist that mosques are used as recruiting centers for jihad, that eighty percent of American mosques teach an extremist ideology, and that the deeds to a quarter of American mosques are held by a Muslim Brotherhood trust. How, they want to know, can you possibly consent to such a folly?

On the other hand, you are a strong believer in religious freedom. You would not oppose a similar request for a new Catholic church or a synagogue. How can you deny Muslims the opportunity to worship in their own way? Your parish priest feels the same way. When you asked his advice on the matter, he reminded you that all Christians have a duty to be welcoming to strangers. “Don’t forget,” he added, “Catholics were immigrants at one time and they were falsely suspected of all sorts of treachery.” Your meetings with Imam Badawi, the leader of the Muslim community, have also been reassuring. He deplores the atrocities committed by ISIS, and assures you that they are betrayers of Islam. The true Islam, he maintains, is a religion of peace and justice.

You have your doubts about the wisdom of the project and you wonder what the long-term consequences will be. Still, it’s your belief that the traditional American principles of religious liberty, tolerance, and impartiality should trump all other considerations. You decide to give the Islamic center project the go-ahead.

Turkish president Erdogan once said, “The mosques are our barracks, the domes our helmets, the minarets our bayonets, and the faithful our soldiers.” Is the hypothetical mosque project an example of stealth jihad at work? Or does it represent a legitimate desire to freely worship God? Or is it a little bit of both?

That’s the trouble with stealth jihad. It’s difficult to resist it because it’s difficult to say whether any particular demand or request is an example of cultural aggression or simply a desire for equal treatment. In most cases, those who have to make the decisions will be predisposed to accept the more benign interpretation. Otherwise, they risk running afoul of the rules of political correctness, which—although unwritten—carry quite a sting for violators. Very few relish the prospect of being called racist, or bigoted, or Islamophobic.

A new mosque on the block? Cancel the controversial speaker? Head coverings and halal meals in the middle school? Criminal penalties for those who insult a prophet?

Some of these issues are already with us, and some of them will be coming soon to a parish, court, or school board in your neighborhood. The success of stealth jihad depends on the willingness of those who decide these issues to take the easy way out—that is, to do the politically correct, non-offensive thing. Let’s hope that the deciders understand that there are larger matters at stake than whether or not someone’s feelings are injured.

Obama secretly backing Muslim Brotherhood

By Bill Gertz - - Wednesday, June 3, 2015

President Obama and his administration continue to support the global Islamist militant group known the Muslim Brotherhood. A White House strategy document regards the group as a moderate alternative to more violent Islamist groups like al Qaeda and the Islamic State.

The policy of backing the Muslim Brotherhood is outlined in a secret directive called Presidential Study Directive-11, or PSD-11. The directive was produced in 2011 and outlines administration support for political reform in the Middle East and North Africa, according to officials familiar with the classified study.

Efforts to force the administration to release the directive or portions of it under the Freedom of Information Act have been unsuccessful.

White House National Security Council spokeswoman Bernadette Meehan declined to comment on PSD-11. “We have nothing for you on this,” she said. The directive outlines why the administration has chosen the Muslim Brotherhood, which last year was labeled a terrorist organization by the governments of Saudi Arabia, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates as a key vehicle of U.S. backing for so-called political reform in the Middle East. Saudi Arabia in recent months appears to be moderating its opposition to the Brotherhood in a bid to gain more regional support against pro-Iran rebels in Yemen.

The UAE government also has labeled two U.S. affiliates of the Muslim Brotherhood, the Council on American-Islamic Relations and the Muslim American Society, as terrorist support groups. Both groups denied the UAE claims. Egypt is considering imposing a death sentence on Mohamed Morsi, the Muslim Brotherhood-backed former president who was ousted in military coup in July 2013.

Critics of the administration’s strategy say the Brotherhood masks its goals and objectives despite advocating an extremist ideology similar to those espoused by al Qaeda and the Islamic State, but with less violence. The group’s motto includes the phrase “jihad is our way.” Jihad means holy war and is the Islamist battle cry.

Counterterrorism analyst Patrick Poole said the Brotherhood in recent weeks has stepped up its use of violent attacks in Egypt.

“The failed Obama Doctrine that so-called ‘moderate Islamists’ were going to usher in a glorious era of peace and democracy in the Middle East was adopted by the administration because that’s what the foreign policy establishment going back to the George W. Bush administration proclaimed as gospel,” Mr. Poole said.

“And now we see as a result Egypt fighting a terror campaign by the ‘moderate’ Muslim Brotherhood; we have a failed state in Libya; and we see NATO ally Turkey turning from secular democracy to religious totalitarianism under Obama’s pal [Turkish President Recep Tayyip] Erdogan.

“This dangerous foreign policy was launched by PSD-11 and the administration’s open embrace of the Muslim Brotherhood, and now we can see its catastrophic effect,”
Mr. Poole added.

Frank Gaffney, head of the Center for Security Policy, extensively documented Muslim Brotherhood subversion efforts, both in the United States and abroad.

Mr. Gaffney has said the Muslim Brotherhood is the most dangerous group promoting the totalitarian and Islamist supremacist doctrine of Shariah.

Several Muslim Brotherhood supporters have been identified as key advisers to Mr. Obama, according to Mr. Gaffney.

Egyptian press reports after the ouster of Mr. Morsi have revealed extensive cooperation between the CIA and the Muslim Brotherhood during Mr. Morsi’s presidency.
