It was no gift cause trees reseed themselves. You didn't have to do a damn thing to get trees to grow on your place. I have a number of volunteer oaks that have come up by themselves and over time, I'll decided which ones I let get big.

Who didn't already know this? If you're worried about CO2 plant trees.

While Brumar is right, it will essentially reseed on its own, if you are interested in maximizing growth (which you should be if you are interested in consumption of CO2) then you will be better off to plant optimally. We have a 100ac tract we did not replant after clear cutting and it was a mistake. It will add years to the regrowing time. And it will the ratio of pulp to sawtimber will be higher as a result. We have some tracts that were not reseeded that have done better but it is a crapshoot.
