Hiya Sweets Just got back from some more holiday shopping...Hey girl, I listened to KLIC's conference call this am...very very interesting...here's the gist of it... Korea of course is a problem, but as I thought "Other" co's are coming in swiftly to take canceled orders and "Market Share" when ever they can...very competative there... He said season slow downs are actually the norm now, because of the holidays & the coming Chinese New Year, Nancy could fill us in on this event...After the New Year is over things will heat up dramatically, " as it always does"... He said the front end guys, AMAT-NVLS-LRCX are in greater trouble because of the DRAM problems, since their market is 50% connected to the DRAM, and KLIC's is 10%... He has already said that the March Q will be "much better" than this Q...That this Q other co's have picked up the slack!!!! That the biggest change at this moment, was his comment on INTC !!!!! INTC has decided to use KLIC's 8060 wire bonder instead of waiting for Flip Chip, to use in their cheap chip set, just devloped for the $1000.00 PC...they offically have doubled their orders for KLIC's 8060, for the 3rd & 4th Q...KLIC is moving very fast to correct a small glitch(with the help of INTC) in the 8060, which should be corrected by Jan 4-5th...As INTC has moved to ramp up this less expensive chip set... Now KLIC's World wide dominance of the wire bonders has moved dramatically higher beacuse of NON pricing preasure of the 8020, and with higher prices of $108,000, up from $90,000 on the old 1488 bonder should increase net income for 98-99-00....Back end semi conductor demand is very strong!!!! See;s the $1000.00 PC's as a net plus for KLIC... He also surprised us and said he is looking at 3-4 deals, not tire kicking, but not public as yet???? interesting to say the least.... Oh Judy they mentioned "Set Top Boxes" in the 400-500 range, that could explode the INTC & KLIC situation like WOW!!! the person said 25 million pieces over 2-3 years could be produced, and Scott K, concurred... Well I uncovered my shares a few days ago, I own some Jan calls<g>, and will now sit tight for the Jan effect...The semis looked to have bottomed for the moment, and will move higher here...I hope...
