Good morning Bernard,

Thanks for the time and quality of your responce. It provided me with insight and direction and should serve to be a pretty good tutorial for those who like me need to increase their learning curve.

I am looking for another "good" semi company to put some cash into so thanks for the stock tips.
Meanwhile I will be hoping that MLIN returns to at least 12 so I can sell with a little dignity. Been licking my wounds now for far too long, they're starting to get that prune look.

Shaky market today...

regards

jim

ICST also produces clock chips that it supplies to PC manufacturers like Compaq. This broadens their base a bit and gives them a high volume product. LLTC and MXIM both have fairly broad poduct offerings in comparison to MLIN. LLTC and MXIM both produce high volume low dollar products that impact their sales significantly. Micro Linear tries to maintain a very tight market focus. It is very selective about the markets it chooses to address. It also always tries to add value in product rather than offer a generic solution. This can sometimes play against them. Not everyone wants a Lexus when a Corolla will suffice.
