Re: Scripps Networks Interactive, Inc. (SNI)

I also have this one on my watch list especially after I booked my small gain on DISCA.

I was holding off since their debt was under review for a downgrade by Moody's.

Rating Action: Moody's assigns Baa1 rating to Scripps Networks Interactive Inc.'s new bond offering; ratings under review for downgrade

I thought their last earnings report was ok ( as good as DISCA) and I like the sector and that they pay a dividend. What's your take on the Moody's possible downgrade?

Presently have no position in DISCA and/or SNI. Watching the sector w/ the Charter offer for TWC and how DIS is growing in the media space (especially ESPN), both DISCA and SNI still provide needed content for the cable subscriber and/or streaming internet user.

To be fair, you have avoided the 2014 slide so that's cool too. If you had it since 2009 till now, thats slightly over 50% over 6yrs+.

I was looking at SNI too for a while.

They were talking about recent profit decline from acquisition and restructuring and competition from Netflix.
I was thinking, one has content for cook shows and gardening, travel, DIY etc. Netflix has more of the serials and movies ..actually more serials. Not too sure if that reasoning makes sense, if anyone knows, please enlighten me.

Personally, are these channels any popular in the US?
