Hi Scotty,

good news for the future:

30-year: +22/32...5.887% Treasury reported a $17.3 billion deficit for November. Compare to a $37.9 billion deficit in November 1996. The year-to-date deficit for fiscal 1998 comes to $52.9 billion. Compare to a $78.1 billion deficit for the comparable year-ago period. The incredible shrinking deficit continues to shrink. In November receipts grew 10.6% and outlays fell 1.3%. To give you an idea of how good this year's numbers have been: If the October-November revenue and outlay growth rates continued through FY1998, the budget would be in surplus by more than $150 billion. This is yet another positive for Treasuries.
