"Why will eliminating consumer choices in things like cereals, sneakers and deodorants be good for poor children?"

It'll be good for everybody. We're suffering from product overload. Remove half the brands and use the shelf space for something else, like hemp products.

"how many poor children could have been fed with the $500M+ flushed down Solyndra's toilets?"
Not as many as are being fed by Tesla, which was also in the program, but gets ignored by carbon salesmen trying to hide the fact that Solyndra belongs to Bush.
