Re -- AM3D is Microsoft supported via the Direct-3D API..

Where did MSFT say they are supporting this? Also please read up on compile time issues re -- instruction sets, before you make such silly posts.

My comments about compiler support were related to the Pentium since there isn't any point in compiling MMX when you can simply plug in library functions. That may change, but for the most part the 3D and 2D multimedia stuff will not be directly supported by compiler vendors, nor will it ever need to be, IMO.
