You're calling them Taliban cause they're wearing Afghan garb.

Note one of them is a woman (far right). If they were Taliban, there'd be no woman there.

The President met in the Oval Office with a group of six Afghans who were visiting the United States under the sponsorship of various private groups. They are meeting with private groups and with Members of Congress during their visit. The Afghans told the President of the Soviet atrocities in Afghanistan, especially the massacre of 105 Afghan villagers in Lowgar Province in September. The group consisted of Mir Ne' Matollah Syyed Mortaza, Habib-Ur-Rehman Hashemi, and Gol-Mohammad, who are villagers from Lowgar Province, Omar Babrakzai, a former judge, Mohammad Suafoor Yousofzai, a resistance leader, and Farida Ahmadi, who was a medical student in Kabul.

.....
Miss Farida Ahmadi was a forth year medical student a Kabul University. What she has to say concerns the conditions in Kabul prisons as they are experienced by someone who was subjected to interrogation and torture. Farida Ahmadi was arrested in the spring of 1981 for having picked up an antigovernment leaflet. She was not tried, but tortured for four months and forced to witness torture inflicted on other inmates, mostly women. Farida was released because her torturers were unable to prove that she belonged to an anti-government organization. When she fled the country, however, her entire family was placed under arrest and is still today.
