You can’t rent a one-bedroom apartment anywhere in America on a minimum-wage job
I had roommates until I got married, except for one year where I was renting a studio apartment by myself.

Even I wouldn't splurge for a one-bedroom apartment, not even in Portland, OR at the time, and I was obviously making a little more than minimum wage.
