Hi Bill: I do not know what your read of Barron's will tell you but I had an opportunity to watch the averages today. From what I saw, it looks like a good deal of selling pressure was let out today. The DJI held nicely at just above 7550. Maybe, just maybe, we can get a pleasant little rally into the new year.

Hi Bill, well they just dont want you to get rich easy <gggg>, anyway after some gut-wrenching my strategy worked this time (I think it all relates to my prayers lately <ggg>)

Sold to open puts last Friday and Thursday, waiting for a pop, hedged them just in case, Sold to open calls during midweek, also hedged them an pronto by 4PM today they expirte worthless, execpt of a partial set of puts so I am long 300 shares, which I anticipate to hold several days.

All in all I traded around 14 or 16 batches of option contracts of several stocks and striking prices.

For sure I have been able to do better, but it is my impresion that it is easier to trade the stocks itself than the derivatives. Next option expiration week will try it again.

If not for the rebound of today I would ended with all the calls going to NILL and about half to 3/4 of the value of the puts, but still ahead.

As to the market I see a protracted bear market with many "bear traps" as those we saw in December.

Haim

Bill, so tough to scalp a trade in this kind of market. I was looking at AOLLQ's @ 3/16 and OEXLK's @ 3/16 when the market was @ -145. I chose the OEX and watched the market tank further. When the DOW came back to down 65, I tried to sell CA puts I owned but the system couldn't find my split adjusted puts, broker put me on hold and the OEXLK's where trading @ 3/8 bid. By the time my broker came back the DOW had retraced back to down 120 and the OEX was back to 3/16. Oh well.......lost commision on the day. DJF
