Such atrocities spurred a member of the Army’s Green Berets to contact Congress and blow the whistle on the Obama administration’s policies dealing with rescuing American hostages. But while American hostages held by terrorists barely garner a nod from the administration, whistleblowing about it certainly gets their attention, as Lt. Col. Jason Amerine has found out. Amerine, who was due to have already retired from the Army, has instead had his retirement delayed and pay cut off by the Pentagon while he remains the focus of an investigation into his leaking information to Republican Rep. Duncan Hunter. “I need to know ASAP what you will be doing to rectify this situation as LTC Amerine should not be expected to survive without pay as he is being involuntarily forced to remain on active duty,” wrote Army Reserve Lt. Col. Billy Ruhling, Amerine’s lawyer, in an email to the Army’s legal counsel. “I will look for your plan of action first thing in the morning.” According to The Washington Times, Amerine had worked with the California Republican behind the scenes to craft a bill that would streamline and coordinate government efforts at rescuing American hostages held by terrorists around the globe. Amerine was scheduled to testify soon before a Senate Committee panel looking into government retaliation against whistleblowers, something that is alleged to have dramatically increased under the Obama administration. “This hearing will highlight the stories of whistleblowers from different agencies who allege they faced retaliation because they brought attention to government wrongdoing,” read a letter from Wisconsin Republican Sen. Ron Johnson, chairman of the committee holding the hearing. In the meantime, Amerine is under criminal investigation by the Army, something his supporters claim is simple harassment. Congress should require the administration back off from its blatant harassment of a man who was simply trying to help Americans held hostage around the world, something at which the Obama administration has utterly failed. ----Please share this on Facebook and Twitter if you think it is wrong for the Obama administration to retaliate against whistleblowers who are simply trying to fix the many things our federal government has messed up.

The Jerusalem Post ^ \| 6/3/15 Iranian media erupted on Wednesday with an unsubstantiated rumor that US Secretary of State John Kerry was not injured earlier this week in a simple fall from his bicycle in Switzerland, but rather he was the target of an assassination attempt while meeting with Islamic State terrorists. The Iranian media has been known to report "conspiracy theories" in the past, such as a September report that Israel was spearheading a dangerous global plot to spread the Krav Maga martial art worldwide and a December report that Israel was building settlements in Iraq. The latest Iranian report, first published by the Nasim news agency and subsequently picked up by dozens of Iranian news sites, based its information on "an American news website" which cites a Russian foreign intelligence service report as the source of the information. According to the report in Nasim, Kerry secretly met with one of the leaders of Islamic State on Sunday. The meeting eventually led to an armed clash and an attempt to assassinate the US secretary of state. Kerry's meeting, in which the alleged assassination attempt took place, was with Gulmurod Khalimov, a senior Tajik police commander, trained in the United States, who announced his defection to Islamic State in a video released last week, the report states. Having received training from the US State Department previously, Khalimov was well aware of State Department security procedures and he used the knowledge to get another member of his entourage into the secret meeting with Kerry, with the intention of assassinating him, the report claims. The report cited communications intercepted by Russian intelligence from France, the US and Switzerland as confirming that two other people were shot in the incident, one of them fatally. The story of Kerry breaking his femur in a bicycle accident in Switzerland was then concoted to hide the real source of his "grave injuries," according to the report.

This unusual move has raised eyebrows across the country as those following the case speculate about what the report might contain. Perhaps the most likely revelation would be proof that Gray died not from wounds received from Baltimore police officers taking him into custody, but instead from wounds self-inflicted during his ride to jail in the police van. Multiple witnesses said that Gray was behaving strangely during the van ride, throwing himself around in ways that many say could easily have produced the injury he was thought to die of. We should note, that cause of death can’t be confirmed until the document Mosby wants to suppress is released. And perhaps therein lies the motivation for her attempt to suppress. Mosby has already shown an inability to handle a case of this magnitude. Perhaps she is now trying to stack the deck in her favor by suppressing vital evidence that could exonerate the officers she’s charging.
