Re -- Having the top PC maker as a customer would be a feather in AMD's cap, even thought it's widely thought that Compaq is negotiating a very low price for the chips. This is a sad story for AMD. Next Q, pentium 233's will be sub-1K computers, so effectively AMD's 233 will be sub-800. Thus AMD will be loosing a lot more... Furthermore the migration to .25u will be delayed due to short supply of the .25u equipment. Also the retail Christmas season is over.. So the retail demand will lighten... Stockman
