Kim, ... i just posted to Jack an address the keeps a current listing of MM's and all stocks on nasdaq. Out of this total list we have only 4 ECN's ; INCA (Instinet), ISLD(Island), BTRD (B-Trade) & TNTO (Terra Nova). take a look at these definitions & info:shamrockonline.com isld.com castleonline.com attain.com The thing that i've noticed from watching level II is that the most important MM's to watch are the above 4, esp INCA & ISLD. Quite often we will see them ONLY on one side & moving in front of the other traditional MM's. These are large private, smart trader's, ... I view them as 'smart money' order flow. I have also found it hard to execute my orders in front of them since i'am going through traditional MM's. The L.T. solution is to get the level of trading up successfully & move to instanet. I have found that when they position w/ size it has meaning of next swing more often then not. There are also 29 Funds/Order Entry type MM's. i'am not going to list them but, these are also of interest since alot of them represent the action's of funds & broker's private trading floors. There are alot of sharp trader's working on private trading floors. The balance of the MM's are skinning the bid/ask spread. A few of them are overnight (or longer term) swing/position trading. I'am viewing this as a trading plan off daily charts entry support/resistance levels) via sorts & looking for the MM's to line up with size, much like a football game, size/field position means alot. Order flow (tape reading)is most important as to swing direction, are we going off at the bid or the ask, ... who's breaking down & hitting the bid or the ask? That's about it for now, ... now show me yours, ...<g>
