The filters at outlook.com aren't perfect, but they get a lot of the spam and move it to the junk folder. Also I login to my email online and read it there and have no desire to download email to my computer, but of course that's not an option in a business environment because of the need to be able to send and receive internal mail.

My outlook allows me to block senders that are in the junk folder, it has really cut down on the amount of spam that I receive.

Maybe you don't have the latest version of outlook?
