Software compatability is always the big issue with a new release and like yourself I've accumulated both licensed and free software over the years that I like. I'm not overly worried, but my software library is why I could never seriously convert to Linux.

The one I dislike is Adobe Acrobat Pro when MS upgrades office. For Office 2010 and 2013 when I did the upgrade I had to upgrade Acrobat Pro if I wanted to convert excel, word and power point into pdf's from the dashboard.

There was a work around (you could print to PDF but that always took a few extra steps. I think with Office 2010 it took Adobe a few months to have the upgrade.
