You have to realize like all ardent deniers, Taro likes to cherry pick his data. The cores he likes to wave about is an excellent case in point. The problem is that the snow and ice don't stop exchanging gasses immediately. This problem is made worse in areas where there is little snowfall.

Like where Taro's favorite cores were taken.

So everything hinges on the assumptions of the transpiration. Using data from other cores, the model has been refined by one group of researchers and the lag vanishes.

You have to realize that Taro still thinks that the Greenland and Antarctic ice caps are growing. Which was the consensus, pre-GRACE. But he doesn't like the newer data, they don't say what he wants.
