Some positive holiday shopping reviews:

Newsweek's holiday technology buying guide calls the Mac the Mercedes of computers. Plus they talk about the PowerBook 3400 being the fastest portable, until the G3 arrives.

Fortune's Technology Buyer's Guide says that you won't like moving from Mac to Windows, in a half page article. The review of the 9600/300 says, "Even if it's down on its corporate luck, Apple's technology isn't flagging." It also likes the 6500, praising the price/performance. The G3 notebook is in the portables Products to Watch section, noting that it is 2.2 times as fast as the 3400. Apple's printers get nice marks, the MP gets a bland review, and the QuickTake is essentially panned.

And HotWired loves the eMate:

Plus, Internet World magazine, not a pro-Mac magazine by any means, says the MessagePad is one of the best products of 1997. (January, 1998 issue, p. 56, "Apple Finally Nails the Newton.")
