The location issue you bring up to consider when choosing a phone is a good one and it makes selecting a phone more difficult than just reading reviews.

I am currently shopping for an upgrade to my Samsung S3. Leaning to the S4 Note. Buying a phone today is comparable to shopping for a new car. There are so many deals and prices that it becomes difficult to make a selection as you never are sure if you got the best deal. They change every week, but as with all tech you can't wait forever. Then there is the decision on the best carrier as they too offer different options and the reception service becomes a consideration depending on your primary location. No offer is static as you can often negotiate. It is not an honest process that has set prices for everyone where the market is extremely competitive. When I talk to friends the disparity in their cell phone costs are amazing. Oh, and some of them were sucked into a 2 year contract while prices drop. Others are in a lease/buy plan where they are paying double for what they should pay to buy a phone. The whole scenario is ugly.

I just purchased a Nexus 6 from Google for use on their Project FI network. Two weeks after I purchased it for $650, they sent me an email that said that they had reduced the price by $150 and would give me a credit for that amount. They then also sent me a package with free ear-plugs and a back up battery supply pack.

I love the phone because it works first off a wi-fi network. I can now use it in my apartment which does not have good cell phone reception. If there is no wifi available it, it runs on either Sprint or T-Mobile, whichever has the stronger signal. I left Verizon which I have had for many years.

One of the best cell phone deals I've found is Consumer Cellular. I've been with them for several years. I've sent family members to them and all are extremely satisfied. Great phone choices and even better rates. I've never had a complaint and find them very helpful when I've needed to talk to them.

Check them out: consumercellular.com

I have the Galaxy Note 4 with Verizon and am very happy with both. Verizon tech support has been the tops for me. I've had Sprint, T-Mobile and ATT in the past and Verizon definitely has the best coverage and best service.

There's so many features on the Galaxy that it'll be a long time before I use all of them.

When the Nokia Lumia came out with a 41 MP camera, I bought the phone just for the camera. The Note 4's camera with a 16MP camera takes better photos. Don't know why. I took both out one day and took the same shot in different locations and the Galaxy was better every time.
