An interesting week I think, the one just passed.

Gold prices quite firm for a change. One should note that money printing presses are turning over at alarming rates over the last month in response to Asian monetary difficulties. All this IMF aid is wonderful but they do have to get the cash from somewhere-answer,print it!!!!Consequently a weaker dollar and a somewhat firmer tone to bullion markets.Observers should note that traders tried several times to whack the gold price every time it firmed up,to no avail.Physical supply is shrinking and we could be seeing the beginning of better times. One should also note that in times past, silver has often been stronger before the gold price moves,as we are now seeing.Additionally,of course,as Mike has pointed out,ANZ has a significant amount of silver in its OJALALI assays which all helps.

Must say the ANZ trading this week showed to me the last dribbles of tax loss selling and steady soaking up of cheap stock by those who believe-very steady bids in the 42-45 area.

Things look quite good to me for the early New Year.

Cheers,Ossie
