The list of Blue Chip Company stock buyback programs goes on and on.

NY Times:
Arthur Sulzberger, Jr., chairman of the Company, said: ''We continue to believe that the repurchase of our shares at current price levels represents an attractive investment opportunity that will benefit
the Company and its shareholders. The repurchased shares will be used for the Company's stock- based employee benefit plans. This action should support growth in earnings per share.''

Come on Angus - you also need to move all officers' and Company shares to somewhere other than Morgan Witter where they're being used against you and the shareholders. Ask for delivery of the certificates.

Good Luck To Each And All

Maybe the company does not have as much faith in the stock performance as you do..

Curly, so far Cymer's been right in not buying back shares as there's more bang for the buy-back buck now than ever before. Perhaps right time for buy-back is approaching. Why not have some insider buying first? Given that the latter has recently occurred, perhaps a buyback announcement will follow soon, and then more follow through with an announcement of better-than-expected earnings. A plausible scenario?
