Just wondering did you do a clean install, or an upgrade?

Clean install. I put each system on a Virtual Hard Drive. This makes it exceptionally easy to switch among systems, as well as maintaining a series of backups.

By the way, one "trick" I use to save a ton of effort locating drivers is to have my new system search the old one for what it needs. With recent versions of Windows, this is simplified by their ability to mount .VHD files using Disk Manager.

Note: Windows can be squeezed into 6gig, but typically, I allocate 8gig. This gives me some breathing room to install supplementary stuff. (I don't store User data on System Volumes.) By the time I get a system that runs the way I like, it's taking up almost 7gig. Still, it's a far cry from the 20gig Microsoft suggests.

Cheers, PW.
