Good luck, since "the concept of p[H] was first introduced by Danish chemist Søren Peder Lauritz Sørensen at the Carlsberg Laboratory in 1909 and revised to the modern pH in 1924 to accommodate definitions and measurements in terms of electrochemical cells."

Jack of All Trades correctly commented on this...I'm sure you're quoting an article that is basing conclusions off of models. Projections a global pH from the ice core in Antarctica. LOL! How's the melting of Antarctica thing going?
