Notes of interest from Jefferies "Energy Monthly" that I just got in the mail today. Note that this report does not include trading activity for December.

1. Out of the entire sector the stock with the lowest PE on '99 earnings is MDCO at 6.8. The highest PE belongs to Western Atlas.

2. CDG has the lowest PE for '98 earnings -- 12.6. The highest belongs to Western Atlas.

3. MDCO has no debt, FGII has only 1.2 million in debt. GLM has 523 million in debt.

4. "The drop in energy prices has created a unique buying opportunity (in the sector)."

5. 12 month price target for CDG -- 95. "We believe this company represents an excellent buying oppotunity."

6. FGII's two orders with Deep Tech (a newbuild semi and upgrades to semi Laffit Pincay -- upgrade price is 25-40 MM) "firm our 1998 and 1999 outlook. Any additional increases to our (earnings) forecast will likely come from higher margins or facility expansion. We believe FGII has the potential to grow EPS to 3.15 or more as the shipyards fill and learning curve efficiencies are relaized. We are increasing our price target to $50 from $41-43."

End of NOtes.

Hey Glen. I understand that EVI has a convertible bond. Do you know anything about this. I love convertibles. You get paid to sit and wait and they have less downside since there is some income being generated. I will try to find the details. This could be a good buy right now.

Lots of new names posting today...glad to see all of you.
