They were democrats before the war and after - this guy was a democrat in 1962 and right up until he left office in 2005. An honored member of that racist party - that never bothered to kick him out. Surprised he wasn't a KKK member as well like R. Byrd. They were a special kind of Democrat..........a conservative Democrat that over time migrated to the GOP. Essentially, they were what conservatism..........your ideology.......has come to in this country. So stop playing your games and cop to reality. So before you get all wee-wee'd up about a flag - just remember which party put it there.
