After the birth of a child, a woman's hormones change dramatically. A sudden drop in the hormone level occurs -----causing symptoms of depression in some women. It is so sad to read about the woman who killed her children. Is it possible that her hormone level had dropped to the point that she was halucinating due to the lack of the hormones her body had lost during the various births. That is why women have their mothers to be with them after the birth of a child. That's the old-fashioned way of dealing with the severe drop in hormones. Then there is Attention Deficit Disorder that was a new label for children in school starting as early as graded school -------much of this imo as a former teacher did not require medication , drugs. The truth is that not all children fit into a controlled, public school routine. I will never forget one young man who lived on a farm. The last place he wanted to be was in a classroom--------he would rather be out with the tractor working the farm. Eventually, the administration agreed------he was taught at home and ended up farming the land that his parents farmed -----becoming self sufficient and land-wealthy. eom
