As I said, your ignorance of Jefferson Davis and the War between the States makes it impossible to continue the conversation. I know what was behind the war between the states. If you had some piece of info that would be thought provoking or transformative, you would have brought it up by now. The truth is you don't. Mr. Davis was defending a system.....a way of life.....a culture......that was abhorrent. Men were enslaved, tortured and killed all on behalf of that way of life To celebrate Mr. Davis's birthday is to give tacit approval to such a way of life. And that is at the crux of the problem. The antebellum south is still glorified in the confederate south; hence the term southern pride.
