"God does have a required way for seeking and receiving his forgiveness"

I have never "sinned". But I do have a goat which I put my hurts on. I use magic to get them on his back. Then I get my donkey (who just happens to speak fluent Japanese) to lead my goat into the desert wilderness, so I thereby become ritually pure. I think this is a better way than human sacrifice, which seems somewhat primitive. What do you think? Do you think that killing what you value will appease an invisible tyrant, and get him to give your crops the correct amount of sun and rain...and make sure no tribal enemies invade your village??

"Christ's ransom sacrifice...."

Leaving aside the question of human sacrifice as a civilized method of improving things...IF Jesus is immortal, then what did he sacrifice? Millions of people (who are not immortal) suffer and die every day in horrendous manner. They have plenty to lose. What do you think a "god" has to lose??
