You'd be surprised ... some of them do. Charles Manson wasn't that rare. I've known people like that.

But my point is he was a loser, it wasn't the drugs ... no job, 9th grade dropout, social weirdo. People like that sometimes turn to causes that make them feel wedded to some cause bigger than them ... race, extremist politics, environmentalism. It's a way of denying their loser status ... the blacks or the Jews or the Man kept them down, or they were too noble to succeed in a corrupt society. Think about the Unabomber .. a real brain but he ended up living in a cabin scrawling a manifesto about how society was going wrong. Think about Rat in his cabin in the sticks nursing a complex about his little white dick ... his daughter hooking up with an Okie, people he feels he really ought to be racially and socially superior to, he won't even visit them at her house. Wait till he has Arkie grandkids, he may put his shotgun in his pickup and go off on killing spree. I think he's a ticking bomb.
