there was no federal law banning slavery in 1862. so your argument is crap and almost all the aFathers believed in states rights.

The north abused the south that's why the war started, tarfiffs on southern goods and not northern ones. the south paid like 75% of the federal budget even though they were less that 30% of the population including their slave
