Sorry, Yohimbine is different, but Ma Huang and ephedrine (primatine OTC asthma med) are one and the same. "Legal Ectasy" and other pseudo-speed are usually an ephedrine and caffeine mix. I believe New York has banned the sale of ephedrine after several deaths, mostly college kids taking handfulls. Sudafed, the popular decongestant, is pseudo ephedrine, developed to try to eliminate some of the beta-agonist effects of ephedrine, (tachycardia, palpitations, anxiety, insomnia). I used to prescribe Yocon (yohimbine), never had a single request for a refill, I agree it is mostly placebo effect, if any. Testosterone has little to do with erections and much more to do with libido (desire for sex) in both men and women. An oversupply of testosterone leads to atrophy of the testicles as the natural supply is shut down by a negative feedback loop. Testosterone is mixed with estrogen in estrogen replacement therapy for women if vasomotor symptoms (hot flashes and night sweats) persist on high dose estrogen. The benefits of testosterone replacement in elderly men are being studied but the increase in prostate cancers with age (many of which are stimulated to grow by testosterone) may cancel out the benefit. Speaking of "spanish fly", there is actually a "blister beetle" called Cantharides (just speaking from memory) which protects itself by excreting a toxic substance which will cause blisters on the human skin. This beetle, dried and powdered is the "spanish fly" of male adolescent myth. Ingested it causes irritation, itching, and swelling of the vaginal mucosa. If your date is the type who finds yeast infections sexually exciting, you got it made. I have absolutly no idea who ever figured that one out or how they did it. Interesting how more information keeps coming out to support the contetion of VVUS management that supply, and not demand, is the problem. Zebra
