Hi Tom:

> Have you ever seen a Guru that lasted?

Actually in my view I know of two: Peter Lynch, and John Tempelton. But it is not so much that they know about markets but rather their open mind and willingness to adopt the new concepts when it comes to investing. They are very modest with absolutely no ego and/or arrogance.

Jimmy Rodgers on the other hand is an egotistical arrogant idiot who got lucky in the 70's to hook up with George Soros. And then after George Soros decided to dump him, he started wearing and portraying a professor like image of himself to the public. His tactics to attract the public is through being/suggesting exotic investment and real wacky ideas (such as shorting all INTC, MSFT and all high techs in 96 and instead invest in a tea factory in Sri Lanka or a goat milking farm in Tabat!). And because of the exotic smell that exists in his wild suggestions combined with his bowe tie look and image, people come to think that "Gee, this guy knows what he is talking about and therefore he must be a guru!" But the fact is he is nothing but a pure idiot!

I have emailed Mark Hanes (of CNBC's SquawkBox show) a few times as why they keep bringing this guy to their shows every Friday since obviously everything he has said for the past 5 years or so have been absolutely incorrect. However I am yet to receive a reply back!

Regards,

Addi Jamshidi

<< Nowadays, I think if he invested as he told the world to, he should be about broke now and
sure needs every penny for a show-up on TV or in Barron's or whereever. Have you ever seen a Guru that lasted? Yes, this guy is history, for me anyway. >>

Ok, if Jimmy is so stupid let's hear your picks. Where are all the world markets going? Where is the US market going? Interest rates? Gold? Bonds? Come on wise guy, let's hear you put your picks on the line for the whole world to criticize.

Can we assume that your first pick (COMS) is already a loser? Looks like from your profile that you like EDS. I suppose you got in that one at 30, not 60?
