Al,
It's not all about me or you...the treatment of farmed animals is deplorable and shameful....unworthy of folks with a conscience.

I was just responding to the supposed health benefits of eating organic, not the morality of raising animals for meat.

Anyway, I remember having dinner with my wife and in-laws one time. My in-laws took us to this place where they served a big Korean feast with fresh pork. And by "fresh," I mean I actually got to see the live pig before it was led away and "became dinner."

I love eating meat, but I must admit, that experience left me with a strange feeling. I'm sure the pig was treated well before it's untimely end, but it kind of dawned on me the reality of eating meat. It's kind of the reason why the whole slaughter process is kept away from public view.

I also wonder if that pig had been a dog instead.
