And it is a win/win. Artists are happy. Competitors will have to do the same. But they can't afford it, and Apple can. Makes for a very easy negotiation with Apple.


Doesn't that make the move a little monopolistic?

Not quite. SOME artists are happy. My guess is not many. Its hardly worth the effort for most.

On the other hand maybe some of them should think through their business plans. You can be the McDonald's or the Sardi's of music, but you can't be both.
