I think they are making a few small acquisitions currently. 12 days ago they bought a parallel database technology that will be integrated into their Teradata Database. I personally feel that they are trying to get their heads above water prior to diluding their cash. The outsourcing of their manufacturing is a sample of how they are treating the business.

From a Sales and Marketing perspective they are focusing on three areas which are Professional Services, Electronic Comerce/High Availability Systems, and Scalable Datawarehouse. They feel that their competition in the future will be Oracle and Anderson Consulting versus HP and SUN. They intend to spend most of their R&D on Software & Solutions vs. Hardware.

It sounds good, but I hope it works.
